People say nice things about us...

It's obvious from the start that Kirsten Manville and Dave Simmons love to play diverse styles of acoustic pop, folk, bluegrass, and soft jazz. The two songwriters complement each other perfectly, each supplying sweet harmony and melodic counterpoint.

-Joel Simches reviewing our cd "Things You Learn" in Noise Magazine June 2009

The duo Kirsten & Dave performed folk, bluegrass and pop music at the First Church of Christ, doing both original tunes and cover songs, with several children dancing in the aisles as they played “Brown-Eyed Girl” by Van Morrison.

“It was a good crowd,” said Kirsten Manville, half of the duo. “A lot of people were singing along.”

-Steven Ryan, Needham Times, on our performance at Needham's First Night 2008 celebration

...were Kirsten and Dave, performers of a variety of music. Dave Simmons played trumpet and sang in the chorus in grade school but now prefers the sound of his acoustic guitar. He is a singer, writer and brings a sweet sound to the air as he strums the strings.

Kirsten Manville is a Bowdoin College graduate who has sung in the college's chamber choir, as well as working with the Nashville Symphony chorus. Kirsten plays the guitar and gave us a sampling of her ability on the flute.

Together Kirsten and Dave have produced their first CD called “Dreams That Just Won’t Let Go”. Their music filled the room with warmth and comfort as they performed by playing together, singing in harmony and sending warm vibes out to all in attendance.

-Shirley Rabb, The Melrose Mirror, on our featured performance at the OutLoud Open Mike, October 2007.

The evening’s entertainment began with a 6-song set by Kirsten and Dave. Kirsten has an absolutely beautiful 1st and 2nd soprano-range while sounding “very folky” and plays the guitar sweetly, and Dave’s folky tenor is accompanied by masterful guitar picking, as well. Oops, almost forgot, Kirsten played the flute exquisitely and flawlessly. My favorite song of their set was a humorous little ditty written by Dave called “Hello Kitty Blues”, if I remember the title correctly. Their effervescent and animated personalities were very well received by the audience.

-Susie Pascar on our show at the Me & Thee Coffeehouse, opening for Guy Davis, February 2007.
