Kirsten & Dave’s diverse backgrounds are the key
to their success at performing a variety of musical styles. Whether they
are playing acoustic pop, country, acoustic blues or folk/bluegrass,
their love for music is obvious. Playing a variety of instruments,
Kirsten & Dave swap off melodies and harmonies as they play a mix of
covers and original tunes. They have many decades of performing
experience between them and they have been playing together since 2002.
Kirsten & Dave have opened for Chris and Meredith Thompson, Paul Rishell & Annie Raines, and Guy Davis. They were finalists on the 2007
season of “Community Auditions,” a televised New England based talent
contest, have been featured performers at many area coffeehouses, and
play at a variety of venues from outdoor fairs, markets and concerts in
the park to cafès, restaurants, and events.
Kirsten & Dave’s first studio CD, Dreams That Just Won’t Let Go, was
released in October 2006. Made up of mostly original tunes, it captures
the spirit of their live performances in fully produced versions of
their favorite songs. The cut People Talk went to number 1 on the list
of anti-war songs on Neil Young’s web site.
Things You Learn, Kirsten & Dave’s sophomore effort, was released in
March 2009. While still keeping the “live” feel of the first CD, the two
artists explored a wider breadth of music. The album includes
traditional folk, country, blues, rock and acoustic pop. As with the
first album, most of the tracks are songs written by Kirsten and Dave.
